My DOJ Record

On March 2, 2019, I received a letter from The California Department of Justice consisting of my DOJ criminal background check (see the document on the page) in order to renew my California teaching credential (this is a standard procedure offered to anyone who holds any type of license in the state of California). The only change I made to the document is that I removed my social security number for obvious reasons!

When I opened the letter, I started jumping up and down in my living room because my criminal record said that I never had been convicted of any crime and that I had never been charged with drunk driving. It showed that although I was charged with 23152(A) VC ALCOHOL/ DRUGS and 273A WILLFUL CRUELTY TO CHILD on August 22, 2014, six days later, on August 28, 2014, the arrest for both charges was changed to "detained only." I also realized I had this horrible charge of  WILLFUL CRUELTY TO CHILD on my DOJ record and that it had been there for several years.

The DOJ record proved to me that several years earlier, I really had been a victim of fraud in San Diego County, that I was only made to look like a drunk driver by The San Diego Police Department and The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office in what they call “America’s Finest City” where every police car has that phrase written on its doors (press the Learn About The Case button on the home page to learn more).
